YOUNG PHARMACOLOGISTS' CAREER WORKSHOP
The program of the 15th Scientific Symposium of APHAR will start on Thursday morning (10:00–12:30) with the Young Pharmacologists' Career Workshop. Representatives from the Pharmaceutical Industry, Pharmacovigilance and Social Insurance System will give an overview of job opportunities for young pharmacologists outside the classical academic setting. OTTO LOEWI  1909/2009
Joint Commemorative Event of the Medical University and the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the appointment of Otto LOEWI to the Chair of Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy of the Medical Faculty of the University of Graz. Loewi chaired the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy from 1909 until 1938. He received the Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine in 1936 for the discovery of humoral neuro­transmission.

RESEARCH AWARDS AND PRIZES
	Hans Horst Meyer Award Sponsored by The Hans Horst Meyer Award is awarded to young scientists (age limit 35 years) for papers published (or accepted for publication) within the last 2 years. Applicants must be members of APHAR. The deadline for application is 4 September 2009.
	Heribert Konzett Award Sponsored by The Heribert Award is awarded to young scientists (age limit 40 years) who have shown to perform independent scientific research. Applicants must be members of APHAR. The deadline for application is 4 September 2009.
The Research Awards of APHAR will be awarded in a special ceremony in the course of the 15th APHAR Symposium.
	There will be • Prizes for Best Oral Presentations and • Prizes for Best Poster Presentations    sponsored by and  The prizes will be awarded at the end of the meeting.
APHAR HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
	The 14th General Assembly of APHAR has decided on 21 November 2008 to award the Honoary Membership of APHAR to Prof. Bernhard A. PESKAR. The ceremony will take place during the course of the 15th Scientific Symposium.
